Teachers in our local elementary and middle schools are an integral part of Youth in Science. Each year, we ask teachers to nominate over 50 deserving students for the Youth in Science program. The success of our program is due in large part to the quality and caliber of students the teachers have recruited for us. Students cannot directly apply to Youth in Science. They must be recommended and sponsored by a teacher. Sponsorship entails working with the student and parents/guardians to complete the application and assisting the student in preparing for the Youth in Science summer camp.
