Name: Asmara Hoo
Section: 20
Asmara is a sophomore majoring in Biological Science with a concentraton in Systems Physiology, and minoring in Chemistry. She graduated from Milpitas High School in 2007 and chose to attend San Jose State to be close to home. Asmara's ambition is to attend medical school and attain an MD to become a pediatrician. She is an NCA All-American Cheerleader and enjoys training and improving her tumbling skills. She likes volunteering her time at Outdoor School and Science Camp, by which she participates in being a cabin leader, hiking, and learning about nature. Asmara likes to incorporate staying fit into her busy schedule because she thinks eating healthy and exercise is important in one's life. In her spare time, she likes to watch chick flicks, hang out with friends, and spend time with her boyfriend.

Name: Jansey Lagdamen

Jansey is pursuing a major in Biology with a minor in Journalism. With whatever she ends up doing, she hopes to make a positive impact on society. Growing up, she was constantly exposed to musical atmospheres, where she learned how to play a variety of instruments and learned a wide range of dances. Music has always been a big part of her life and continues to be one of her passions.

Name: Chi Dao
Section: 11
Chi is a junior majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Conservation and Organismal Biology. She is also minoring in Chemistry, and wants to take Photography as her second minor. After graduating, Chi plans to go to UC Davis for Veterinary School. During her free time, she can be found volunteering at Sacred Heart Community Service or her local animal shelter, or just watching Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Name: Eric Armendariz

Eric is a junior at SJSU majoring in Biology. He plans to go into the medical field after graduation. He took Science 2 Fall 2006 and has been a Peer Advisor since Fall 2007. He is the President of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and in his spare time he enjoys participating in fraternity functions such as sports, philanthropies, beach bonfires, and other various social events. He also enjoys the out doors, going to the movies, or just hanging out with his fraternity brothers and close friends.

Name: Sophie Bousset
Section: 23
Sophie is a sophomore still deciding whether she would like to major in Business or preparation for teaching foreign languages. After graduating, she plans to either become a teacher or work for a company that would send her all over the world for business. She became a PA in Fall 2008. In her spare time, Sophie likes to go hiking, play tennis, sing, tutor, do cardio kickboxing and watch movies with friends.

Name: Gurpreet Bola
Section: 28
Gurpreet is a senior at SJSU. She is a health science major hoping to graduate in Spring 2009. After graduation she wants to work on (MPH) Master of Public Health here at SJSU. She joined the Science 2 peer advisors' team in Fall 2008 and is looking forward to working as a part of this team. She is a very "homey" person and enjoys spending time in her house where she is often found rearranging furniture and accessories. In her free time she enjoys cooking, running, gardening, and catching up her sleep.

Name: Michael Azzarello
Section: 12
Michael is a sophomore at San Jose State and he is twenty years old. His major is environmental studies with plans to work on making ways to produce cleaner, more efficient forms of energy in the future. He is currently a two year member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and is holding the office as president. His hobbies include hanging out with friends, watching tv, and taking part in my fraternity. Mike is sad to be back from vacation in Mexico, but ready to start school!

Name: Brian Rios
Section: 6
Brian is a sophomore at SJSU, living in San Jose. He went to Andrew Hill High in San Jose and is now a Biological Forensics major. Brian is the first in the family to go to college and this helps motivate him through the tough times in school. He plans to join the police force and become a C.S.I. for the San Jose Police Department. Brian has many interests in his off time. He may be working out, practicing Taekwondo and/or boxing. He also may be playing video games when he is tired; most of which are racing games since cars are one of his many interests.

Name: Mitendra Chhaunkar
Section: 15
Mitendra is a sophomore at SJSU. He is a Computer Science major and is planning on becoming a video game designer after graduation. He joined the PA's in Fall 2008 because he loves helping people. Some of his hobbies are making short films, hiking, practicing martial arts, and playing video games.

Name: Justin Arce
Section: 27
Justin Arce is a sophomore at San Jose State University. His major is going to be Kinesiology hoping to one day be a Physical Therapist. He hopes to be an assistant to Dr. Arthur Ting, the Physician to the San Jose Sharks hockey team, and aspires to be part of their hockey operation. This is first year joining the Science 2 Peer Advisor team, and he is very excited and "ready to work!" He is currently a part of the cultural group 'Hiyas Philippine Folk Dance Co.' and enjoys expressing his filipino culture. On his spare time he likes to take long runs, play video games and watch reruns of his favorite television show "FRIENDS."

Name: Emily Corso
Section: 19
Emily is a third year Biology, turned Pre-nursing major here at San Jose State who completed Science 2 in the Fall of 2006. Her main academic goal at the moment is to be accepted into the school of nursing, and eventually become a registered nurse for the United States Air Force. Emily is also minoring in Dance, which is most likely what you will find her doing with her spare time! She also helps with instruction at a martial arts school which has taught her the importance of discipline and responsibility. Emily hopes to use the knowledge she has gained from previous semesters and her extra-curricular activities, to be a better PA and help those wanting to succeed in the science majors.

Name: Kristina Dragovic
Section: 26
Kristina is now entering her fourth year as a Molecular Biology major, and is also starting her minor in literature. She wishes to become a doctor and eventually go to medical school in order to help better herself as well as those around her. She has 3 sisters that she loves to spend time with, and she loves to go to the beach and spend time with her friends and family. She is also beginning her new role as Science 2 peer advisor coordinator, and hopes to excel in the workplace and in her most important role, as a student. Also known as Tina, she loves to interact with people and hopes to establish meaningful connections with all of her students. She wishes to inspire students to stay true to their real ambitions, and never settle for the easy way out.

Name: Perla Jimenez
Section: 17
Perla is a sophomore at San Jose State University who is majoring in Biology with a concentration in Systems Physiology. After SJSU, she plans to attend medical school to receive her M.D/Ph.D and become a Pediatric Cardiologist. Perla became a PA in the Fall of 2008. Perla is thrilled about working on a non-profit organization that’s dedicated to helping the underserved villages in Africa. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, playing the piano, reading, performing volunteer work, jogging, playing tennis, shopping, and going to the movies.

Name: Maira Gallardo
Section: 18
Maira is a senior working hard to graduate in May 2009 with a BA degree in Social Work. She plans to explore the field by working with different populations from children to elders. Maira has been a PA since Fall 2007 and feels it is a privilege to assist her fellow freshmen students grow academically. Studies aside, she enjoys browsing the mall, watching movies, reading, eating sushi and spending time with her friends in the downtown social scene.

After many years with the Science 2 program, Ana will be graduating in December 2008 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. After graduation, Ana plans to pursue a Master’s degree. She has been the PA Coordinator for the last 3 years and is looking forward to passing on her Science 2 knowledge to all of the Peer Advisors. Away from her studies, Ana is likely to be found having a great time with her friends, driving, or shopping.

Christina is a junior majoring in Nutrition and Food Science to become a Dietitian. She became a Peer Advisor in the Fall of 2007. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, swimming, and spending time with her loved ones.

Name: Eileen Ha
Section: 22
Eileen is a junior at SJSU and is currently studying to become the World's Greatest Nurse! Hopefully within the next year, she will be able to apply for the Nursing Program on campus. She is a proud sister of Sigma Omicron Pi, and now a proud member of the Science 2 team. You can catch Eileen traveling around the world, or spending time with her loved ones. But don't let that fool you because her favorite hobby of all is doing loads of laundry...loads and loads and loads!

Name: Christine Tu
Section: 26
Christine is a senior majoring in Nutrition and Food Science, with a concentration in Dietetics and a minor in Biology. Her aspiration is to attend UC Davis for Veterinarian school and open up her own clinic. She is going into her third year as a Peer Advisor and looks forward to mentoring new Science 2 students. Her hobbies include going to the gym, bike riding, shopping, going to the movies and long walks on the beach (jk!). Christine was recently working as an Orientation Advisor for the Orientation and Transition program for the summer of 2008; so for those who were in the College of Applied Sciences and Arts, you may recognize her. Welcome to the fall semester!

Name: James Logan
Section: 25
James was born in Los Angeles, California. He went to high school in Berkeley, California at Berkeley high school. He is studying Marketing at San Jose State University and will graduate in the Spring of 2009. James enjoys painting, working out, and actively participating with the campus community. James is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and also the Black student union. He plans to join the Pre-Law club this fall and pursue a JD/MBA after he graduates.

Name: Tamra Otten
Section: 21
Tamra is a Justice Studies major at San Jose State. She is a senior and will graduate in May 2009 and hopes to attend law school in the future emphasizing in social justice. She wants to go to law school in the Bay Area because she wants to help people in her own community. Her goals for the future are to own a loft by the time she is 30 and have two children in her 30’s. Tamra loves kids and has been babysitting for over 6 years. When she has some free time, she spends it with her friends and family.
