Nuclear Science Facility

The facility is located on the first floor of Duncan Hall.

This is a secured facility. You must have authorization from the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to enter.

There are teaching laboratories where various classes perform specific experiments with radioactive materials. These experiments are closely supervised by the RSO. Approximately 900 undergraduate students perform experiments in the facility over a years time.

The facility supports research projects radiation sources. The Nuclear Science Facility is assigned to the College of Science.

During the summer the American Chemical Society host a course in nuclear chemistry. This is a sponsored course over a six week period of time. The web site to learn more about this course is http://kinard.people.cofc.edu.
